Phil DID the Double

Phil DID the Double

Last Friday we told  you about Phil Simcock, one of our riders, who was doing something daft last weekend. He was having a crack at riding the West Highland Way, in both directions, in one go! For those not familiar with the trial, its starts at Milngavie in North Glasgow and winds its way up through the Scottish Highlands to Fort William. We were sure the 196miles and over 22,000 feet of climbing would be the easy bit. The hard bit would be dealing with the midges!!

Well - Sunday afternoon brought amazing news. Phil had completely SMASHED the current record of 38hrs, with an incredible time of 28hrs and 59mins. And the midges? He didn't comment, but the weather was awful.

Phil's mate Jason Terrahawk who was keeping an eye on Phil during the ride has written his version of events here, and we're waiting for Phil to catch up on sleep and eating and let us know his side of the story later this week.

But an amazing hearty congratulations from all of us at Planet X and On-One!
