Hi Jaques, probably best if you get in touch with our customer service guys by phoning 01709 386666 or emailing [email protected]

  • Jaques

I just (finally) bought the Van Nic, Pioneer frame from you (Planet-X). I ordered the Carbon Fork (but not looking at the frame, do they take 26' wheels, or 700cc, if 26, then I've got the wrong fork. Very confusing, not much info on the internet, but certainly looks like a 26' Tourer to me... I need to cancel the 700cc Van Nic, Carbon forks, will do on monday, first thing. Is my assumption correct?

  • Yuri Zaitsev

Hi! Could you please make it clear: which type of Zion frame have you got in stock? Page http://on-one.co.uk/c/q/frames states it is "Van Nicholas Zion Rohloff Frame Available in: 0-100mm Short Travel Fork, 29inch Wheels", while http://on-one.co.uk/i/q/FRVAZIRH/van-nicholas-zion-rohloff-frame tells nothing about 29". Vas Nicholas own site describes either Zion Rohloff (26") or Zion 29" (not IGH ready). I would be very nice if you really have an IGH 29er - I`m just looking for one.

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Jaques, yes, Alfine 11-speed will fit fine.

  • SteveT

Aha. Just as I suspected. The bottom bracket housing does look oversized. Thanks for the confirmation. Jaques, Eccentric bottom brackets work very well. One of the advantages being that you can run mud guards closer to the tyre due to not having to worry about enough clearance to remove wheel, as the wheel drops down and out rather than back and out. You wont have that luxury in a horizontal drop out. And the Bushnell version from memory is a good product. Still...Im going to rock the boat here, I think im going to wait for the Pompino Ti version before I make a decision. Sorry fella's.

  • Jaques Els

What about the new 11-speed Shimano Alfine Hub. Will this work well with this type of frame? I also agree with SteveT, horizonta drop outs (like my on-on 29'er) would have been better? or not???

  • crb

These frames do use eccentric bbs they are nicer ones that tighten from the side rather then with the 2 fixing bolts at the bottom.

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Steve, Jason is indeed correct. The oversized BB on these frames is to accomodate an EBB such as the Bushnell one found at http://on-one.co.uk/i/q/BBBUECC/bushnell-eccentric-bottom-bracket. The idea is that the EBB allows the whole bottom bracket area to be rotated away from the chainstays in order to take up any slack in the chain.

  • Jason Whiffin

Steve, the shell size is for an EBB; note the size, it's not threaded etc. Regards

  • SteveT

These are beautiful frames. But im having trouble comprehending how these are an ideal IGH frame. They have vertical drop outs. An ideal drop out for an IGH should have horizontal drop outs. If not, then a sliding vertical drop out or an eccentric bottom bracket. This frame appears to have none of those features. As I see it, to put an IGH on these frames requires a tensioner of some sort. Somebody please explain. Have I missed something here ?? Steve
