Carbon 29er UST Rims <370g

We've just received the pre-production samples of our new UST ready carbon 29er rims, along with a very welcome surprise that they come in under 370g each! They feel and look the absolute dogs bollox and we can't wait to get them into full production.

Details of full availability and pre-order for these will be out very soon. In the meantime, happy drooling!

Let us know what you think.

What time will be these rims on sale? Thanks. Tom

  • T2G

ditto! You've kept us trembling on the edge so long!

  • maria

Anything new about the wheels. Delivery time and price ?!

  • Slowerthensnot

Hot! I'd love a pair for the divide this year!

  • Wheel-less in Seattle

I think that my wife might have spend all of the money on a new kitchen. There may now be no more money for carbon wheels...

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi TG, no none with the new wheels unfortunately. The boss is still yet to sign off pricing too. Sorry!

  • TG

Did any of these arrive with the other new 29er wheels? Any word on price?

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Jonathan, we've no plans to offer a 26" version of these wheels just yet. Carbon rims are a tricky thing to get right so we're doing our best not to rush things!

  • Jonathan

Any updates on these and the 26er rims? My Whippet needs more carbon!

  • Mark_k

Any news on these i have some cash burning a hole in my pocket !!!

  • Marcel

@ed FRM makes their 29er sets also with lefty hub option http://www.frmbike.biz/index.php?route=product/product&path=69_82_119&product_id=99

  • ed rees

shame there's no lefty hub option - there are no decent 29er lefty wheelsets around..

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi maria, as we don't spec Lefty forks on any of our bikes there would be no need for us to sell Lefty hubs. You could buy the rim and get a local wheelbuilder to build it up onto a hub of your choice though?

  • maria

would they come in a lefty hub option, maybe from frm ?!

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Tim, these certainly did make production and should be available for purchase by the end of February. Why not sign up for our email newsletter to get the latest availability and pricing info?

  • TimG

So are these the wheels that never were? Did they make production?

  • SebastianI

Cheers! So probably I will stay with initial idea of new wheels with Velocity P35 rims... Regards! I.

  • JonB (On One Team)

Yeh, the 32h do have the same same size. We are keeping carbon for lightness and aluminium for strength. For AM 29x2.4 I would personally run alloy rims.

  • SebastianI

Thanks Jon, Does it mean that 400g/32H rims are wider? If yes what is their internal width? Cheers! I.

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hi Sebastian. In response to your post Stevo writes: "With Carbon Rims the 17mm inside is to ensure rim locks into the bead. This 29er rim was always supposed to be a light XC tubeless ready rim. The 32H 400g is the rim for abuse and will take up to a 2.4" 29er tyre"

  • SebastianI

Hi, Just read rims update on the Twenty Nine Inches. Are you really serious with 17(-ish)mm internal width??? I understand that it is tricky way of saying: "Yes, no weight limit but check the width. It is not for serious abusse..." Biiiig disapointment. Very unhappy :( Cheers! I.

Here's the latest news on the forthcoming On-One Carbon 29er wheels... Firstly, we realised that the "UST" anagram was not really appropriate for our new carbon rims and will change it for the production models. We are going to supply the carbon rims in 2 options: 1: 28H "Tubeless Ready" with no need for rim tape- weight around 370g per rim. These tubeless ready rims needs to be built into wheels at the factory. We have used the same hub supplier as for the "Planet X Pro Hubs" and are equally happy- the best quality bearings and blingest cassette freewheel. We are also going to adjust the graphics as these rims are not in fact true UST design. However, we were able to save almost 200g using normal 29er tyres and sealant instead of true UST compatable tyres and are very happy with this! 2: 32H carbon rims for building wheels in the UK. These have a heavier construction and weigh around 400g. Although still light these can be paired with the new 10mm and 20mm bolt through hubs. The 32h rims will be available separately at around £200 each (hopefully less). Complete wheelsets will be around £699. Available in 8-12 weeks (Mid February) , Pre-order January. So, not in time for Santa this time but we wanted to be 100% sure of quality. We'll keep you posted. Thanks for your comments, we read and listen to them all!

  • uknat

nice! just ditch the red decal band please! and tell us what 'UST' compatible means. tape and sealant needed I assume. is there something special about the bead that makes it particularly suited for tubeless?

  • Fabian

can you tell us anything about the price?

  • Jani

Got to have these on my 29er Ti! Would be even better if decals were black/white

  • bryant

Looks good, happen to know the erd? Any chance you can email me when they become available? looking to replace my heavy Mavic TN719's.

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hi guys, the width of these rims is around 25mm- although I can't measure them now as Adrian has them out testing (lucky devil). Should stress that at this time unfortunately this is still only a sneak preview and cost, availability etc are still tbc...

  • julian

Oh yes - any rough costs and how can we pre-order!?

  • Pulsepro

What's the width on the 29er rims? I hope they're 28mm....like Stan's Flows or Blunts!

  • JonB (On One Team)

Good point jb. As you've spotted these UST compatible rims are not true UST. In error the factory have decalled them with the UST rims design, the actual design will be very similar but will drop the 'UST', if that makes sense? The true UST 28 hole rims will have these graphics though.

  • jb

So how are these any more 'UST' than any other rim?

  • Dazza

Please, please, please tell me these will be ready for Santa to deliver me some if I have been a good boy!

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hi Neil, the decals are not removable I'm afraid.

  • neil

put me down for a pair. Are the decals removable?

  • T to the G

BTW are you going to sell those pre-prod samples? They'll only clog up the warehouse once you've finished playing with them...

  • T to the G

Two words. DING DONG. Nuff said.

  • JonB (On One Team)

You can take liberties, Tonyo. Adrian, our tester, is known for breaking seatposts. He's also not known for shying away from jumps and drops.... They can handle a 2.5" tyre no problem.

  • Tonyo

LOVEING/L-UST-ING after these, but "Thrash" is relative term, are they pure XC or can you take a few liberties with them? And what kind of tyre width can they handle?

  • JonB (On One Team)

Yes to your question, Ojos. 26er version is on it's way too but 29er will be available in the first instance.

  • dom1n1k

Hello, what about the 26er version?

  • Ojos Azules

So, 32H version is going to work with Stan's, Caffelatex, or your new partner FRM rim tape and sealant for tubeless conversion ?

  • JonB (On One Team)

Cheers Geoff. The photo's show the 32 hole rims that are UST compatible. These will be available as rims, pre-built and custom built wheels. We'll also be offering some (even lighter) 28 hole UST only race rims but as these need to be spoked in the factory they'll be pre-built only. There is no rider weight and to make double sure we got Adrian (who weighs 100kg) to thrash the hell out of them for 2 weeks in the lake District and true enough they performed flawlessly!

  • Jeff

Amazing! Look great and so light. Are these going to be available as rims only and prebuilt wheels? Any rider weight limit, please say no!
