Scandal 29er Reba XT Build

Here's a few pics of a recent custom build.  A Scandal 29er with full XT kit, FSA XC-290 wheels and RockShox Reba RLT Dual Air 29er forks. We absolutely love it and reckon it's a sure fire race winner.

Complete bike weight is only 24.7 lbs- pretty damn light for a 29er...

Let us know what you think. If you'd like to see more 29er builds with suspension forks here's your chance to raise your voice!

Hi Stretch. Yeh, good idea on the bolt through fork- we have thought about it many times and will do it as soon as we can find a fork / wheel combo that does the business. I may have a sneaky look at the Giant...

Dream bike, when I get a job this is top of the shopping list. Except in pink. Have you considered putting a fat thru-axle on the front? G**nt seem to manage it for similar money.

Reckon a decent set of forks (80mm) would make all the difference over a 100k. The Breacon Beast for instance. Very nice bike.

The wheels on this bike are Shimano xt 29er.

What wheels are on there? Must be a pretty fast bike

The bike looks fantastic. Personally I don’t get on with negative rise stems so wouldn’t see a problem with this setup. It’s horses for courses. FrankH

Completely agree, Matthew. A negative rise stem would make the riding position much nicer IMHO. Maybe this bike was going to a very tall rider...

    bars need to be lower...

Two main reasons, Flash (i'm assuming you're referring to the Scandal 29er?). Firstly, the Whippet SLX is currently offered at a very special price- it's a new product and the price offer is limited. Secondly, 29er specific components are more expensive than their 26 inch equivalents. They're bigger, have different physical demands and also there's less competition which forces market prices up. We're doing our best!

how come a carbon whippet with suspension is cheaper than a rigid aluminium frame scandal?
