Have You stopped selling the Pompetamine Versa Drop handle bar?!? How to buy one now when I have the funds?

  • JonB (On-One Team)

Hi Eric. Yes, they are coming in white, but not blue.

  • Eric

Hi, will you get an XL Frame in the next time in white or blue ? Thanks eric

  • DH (On-One Team)

Hi Bob, not quite sure what you mean- it looks like your bike was dispatched months ago! Maybe you can give Customer Services a ring on 01709 386666. Cheers.

  • Bob

Hi JonB DOES THAT MEAN MY ORDER CAN BE PROCESSED THIE WEEK:) VERY EXCITED!!!! SO0047070 cheers Bob

  • JonB (On-One Team)

Yes, Hovi. They're in stock now: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/BLVEVRS11/versa-vrs-11-brake-levers-pair-for-alfine-11sp A complete bike with Versa shifters will be available by the end of this week...

  • hovi

Have the Versa VRS-11 shifters finally arrived? When will a 11-speed Pompetamine Versa probably be available?

  • JonB (On-One Team)

Sorry Francois- it's simply due to stock levels on last year's colour frames.

  • Francois

Man why are the XL frames always more expensive???

  • Michael Robinson

Thanks Thomas - I have a Cycle to Work voucher that is valid up to 23 July hence the questions about when the 11 speed Versa bike would be available.

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Michael, we're expecting the Versa 11-speed shifters at the end of July, so we may have a Pompetamine Versa 11-speed pre-order live on the site just before.

  • Michael Robinson

Any update on the availability of an 11 speed Pompetamine with Versa shifters?

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi again Michael, unfortunately we don't expect to get any more G.I.T.D. in.

  • Michael Robinson

Another question... when do you expect a medium glow-in-the-dark white frame to be back in stock?

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Michael, mid June according to our designer.

  • Michael Robinson

Thanks for that Thomas. When do you expect black to be available?

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Michael, the only other colour we have coming is black.

  • Michael Robinson

Any update on the comment from September 2010 about additional colour options? I like the bike spec but am a bit underwhelmed about the white and blue colours.

  • JonB (On-One Team)

Hi Robert, understand you want the shifters to arrive, so do we! They are now due in 6 weeks time, so the wait is nearing it's end...

  • robertd

Hya Jonb, any news on the versa shifters? i am trying to be patient-honest :) cheers

  • Neil

When will the price + spec. of the 11 speed Versa Pompetamine be added to the site? Me want one!

  • Jon

I can confirm the Versa-VRS 11 levers work fine with the hub :-) I'm 6ft and went for the XL frame size to get the top tube length right. It's no lightweight but it's still nice to ride and rolls along really well. I do think the forks should be drilled at the front so dynamo lights can be fitted...my bike came with a dynamo hub after all.

  • JonB (On-One Team)

Hi James. Well spotted- the price has recently had to go up. The entire On-One range has recently been re-specced with the latest kit and unfortunately due to rising costs some prices have had to go up. This model was one of those- the Versa drop bar shifters cost considerably more than the flat bar Shimano equivalents and this is reflected in the retail price difference. When 11spd Versa shifters become available I would expect the complete bike to retail in the region of £1299.

  • JamesS

Hi, I've been toying with getting one of these for a while but can you expalin why the price has just jumped up by £100?? Do you know what the price of the complete 11 speed bike will be?? Thanks

  • robertd

hya, my order is currently on hold part built with you guys waiting for the 11 speed shifter. Any progress? cheers

  • Ham

Any timescale for the 11 speed hub, please? I'm getting close to buying but I would hold out for the 11 speed if it isn't too distant in the future

  • Gord

Great to hear the 11 speed is getting closer. The only hitch I can see is removing the rear wheel if you've got full mud guards. Why not use vertical dropouts with an eccentric bottom bracket?

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Simon, Versa have sent us a set of the shifters for us to test and check compatibility. If all is well we'll be putting an order in with Versa shortly.

  • Simon M

Any news on an 11-spd version now that Versa have released their 11-spd shifter?

  • ThomasH (On-One Team)

Hi Steve, the Pompetamine has always been a intended as a sort of 'sit up' style commuter frame as opposed to a stretched out mile muncher. You can get a longer reach with drop bars if necessary.

  • Steve

Top tube length on the biggest size offered is only 576? Ouch! Why such a short cockpit?

  • bigheads

This looks a great bike,I too was thinking about the new genesis day one,the salsa fargo or a build up around the surly karate monkey, but this is great.I know on-one frames are solid,I can think of quite a few friends who ride them, and rate them.I'm looking for an off road drop bar 29erish,capable of touring, and this seems perfect, possibly some components i'd change, but in general,i'm interested..

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hi Evan. The Pompetamine frame and fork is fully drilled to accept mudguards (fenders)- in fact it is probably our fender friendliest bike!

  • Evan

I'm a little sad that the fork doesn't seem to be drilled for the fender attachment point. I'm assuming it's the same for the stay bridges?

  • JonB (On One Team)

    I would try a 32c.

  • badbusdriver

oh, i forgot to ask, what is the maximum size of tyre i could use with mudguards?

  • JonB (On One Team)

Cheers Badbusdriver we like it too!

  • badbusdriver

bravo!, this is exactly what im looking for in a bike, to me this is the dogs dangly bits!. steel frame-check!, drop bars-check!, disc brakes-check!, hub gears-check!, and the ability to take big tyres-check!, yup, its all there! (oh, and £200 less than the genesis day 1 alfine!), just need to start saving hard now (well after xmas anyway).

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hi Robert. Cabling is the same as in the photo I'm afraid. Upgrading the chain will result in a longer lifespan of the chain / chainwheel and Alfine sprocket- definitely a worthwhile expenditure.

  • robertd

jonb one of things i love about my slpro is the cableing and set up which are first class. everyone notices. a real proffessional job. cabling on the versa, going by pictures above is loose and untidy in comparison. has this changed since the photos? a small point i know but... whats advantage of upgrading the chain? cheers

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hi Bob. Very good choice for commuting. Removing the rear wheel is easy although a little fiddly at first- you have to pop out a cable release. You're correct in that the advantages of the Pro are more in function, longevity and style over weight.

  • robertd

Thinking about one of these to save me from destroying my sl pro on my daily commute... prefer to the genesis day on alfine but a little confused about ease of wheel removal on the pomp to fix punctures. is it difficult. Also seems little weight advantage in going with the pro-i/2lb-is that right? cheers bob

  • JonB (On One Team)

By the way... we've had no problems with using Avid BB7 disc calipers with these frames.

  • Tifosi

The bike looks great and is similar to the new Genesis Alfine Day 1, which is also equipped with the Shimano 8 speed hub but more expensive. I would certainly be interested in a Pompetamine Versa equipped with the new Alfine 11 speed hub - the perfect ' do all' bike.

  • JonB (On One Team)

Absolutely, Jalis. Versa, who are the only company to make Alfine compatible drop bar shifters, are currently working on developing an 11 speed unit, and we are very interested to get our hands on one! Thing is they had to wait to get hold of the new hub (which is only just out now) before going into testing, so it looks like being several months off yet.

  • JonB (On One Team)

Hey Xiron. BB drop is 295 from centre of bottom bracket axle to floor. 42c tyre looks like it should fit, just about. Has anyone tried?

  • Jalis

Very exciting, is there a plan to make an alfine 11 speed version with colour options? and if so when and how much and i'll do a free test if you want?

  • Xiron

Did someone measure die BB drop of the frame using the Pompetamine fork? Did also run a 42c tyre in the fork thanks Regrads Xiron

  • JonB (On One Team)

Yes Matt, we're just waiting for the 135mm On-One fixed hubs to arrive...

  • matt

Luvverly. Any plans for a single speed full build? Disks and no gears. Labotomised. Must have.
