Custom Paint Carbon 456 Winner Announced

Custom Paint Carbon 456 Winner Announced

At Mountain Mayhem last weekend we ran a competition to win a custom painted Carbon 456 frame. To enter, all you had to do was book a test lap on the new Carbon 456 bike and let us have your thoughts on how it performed- good or bad. You can find those testimonials here.

It’s a great prize- an awesome frame with the enviable opportunity of having it painted to your own design and specification. Whether that’s a classic 2-tone grad, simple block colours or an all out one off artistic masterpiece it’s yours for the taking. Our resident frame painter Denby is ready and waiting with his airbrush so for those who didn’t win all is not lost!

Planet X director Andy Brooks let his six year old draw the winner last night, and we can now announce that the lucky guy is Ben Craig, a student at Southampton University. On finding out that he had won Ben said 'Oh my God, unbelievable - I was trying to think I wouldn't win so I haven't thought of a paint job yet, fantastic'.

I spoke to Ben this morning and he seemed pretty stoked. He’d been riding the 24-hour endurance event with his university team and really liked the Carbon 456 on the track. So much so that he plans to strip the bits off his Orange P7 to build up his new prize On-One. Cool.

Ben’s got some pretty far out ideas about how he wants his frame painted…. He’s been talking to Denby about various themes and fancies going for something completely crazy. He mentioned robots and Guinness as two possibilities- we’ll have to wait and see how that turns out!!! Ben’s thinking about using this as an excuse for a weekend riding in the Peak District so hopefully we’ll get to meet the lucky man in person.

Well done to Ben and commiserations to those not so lucky, it’s a shame there can only be one winner. Don’t worry though we’ll have full details of how to book your paint job live on the site soon!
