Garda Festival Review

The area around Riva del Garda in northern Italy is a hardcore MTB paradise offering incredible scenery, awesome natural trails and some of the toughest descents known to man. It's also home to the Garda Bike Festival where this year the On-One/Titus team were out in force...

The Garda Bike Festival is much more than just a trade show; with bike demos, guided trails, XC races, 4X, and dirt jump competitions held over 3 busy days.

This was On-One and Titus' first showing at this previously German dominated event and we were really happy with how our bikes and products were received. It was great to be a part of the classic European season opener and fantastic to be showing off our the new Titus full suspension bikes for the first time, including a European exclusive 1st ride of our brand new Rockstar 29er Carbon.

29ers were expectedly the hot topic at the show, so it was no surprise we had visitors from Spain, Croatia, Italy and Germany flocking around the On-One Carbon 29er Race.

Titus Rockstar 29er Carbon ready for the mountain

The response was great - a universal enthusiasm for this unknown UK brand with an equally unknown price to quality ratio. Our new German language site, www.on-one-bikes.de headed up by 29er expert Christain Artmann was an added attraction also. Even the cycling press were keen, with Europes largest magazine "Bike" running a feature and freelancers and riders alike snapping away. Our test fleet of Titus FTM Carbon, Titus X Carbon, Whippet and Carbon 29er Race went down well too, with positive reports coming in from all directions.

Titus FTM Carbon built up and ready for a thrashing

Lake Garda is a freeride and downhill mecca with horrendously steep wooded mountains heading skyward in just-about every direction. What's more it's a bike friendly town with fantastic waymarked routes, cross country routes for all abilities, cheap uplift services and many guided tours. It's a fantastic place to ride and a great show. Book a holiday and we'll see you there next year!

On our last night we nervously took to the hills and tested the new bikes for ourselves… It was the first time in the Alps for several of us, which was a real eye opener, more on that soon! With 1400m of climbing leading into relentless, rock strewn, drop-off and hairpin riddled descent that, in the fading light, was a test for us and our bike alike…

So, a big thanks to all those who came to see us and a big recommendation to all of you to get out to Garda soon - you'll not regret it!

Lago di Garda is lovely! Have been there twice on my biking trips to Rome and Delphi. Some sort of biking paradise with a beautiful view of the lake.
