The FTM Carbon is Titus' flagship full suspension bike. The frame weighs in at an incredible 2380g inc rear shock (that's 5.25 lbs in old money). The FTM Carbon is light enough to climb like a mountain goat yet burly enough to well and truly stick the descents. An awesome all-rounder.
FTM stands for Full Tilt Moto! This durable, versatile performer can tackle a wide variety of terrain and race course. Featuring longer legs and a little more meat where it counts, the FTM gives mountain bikers looking for an all-day, all-conditions bike plenty of comfort and control.
The FTM slots in between the XC/marathon racehead Titus X and the hard-riding hooligan Titus El Guapo. Whether you choose to run the FTM as a burlier version of the X, or as a scaled down version of the El Guapo, is entirely up to you.
Well, in actual fact with a couple of component alterations it's possible to push/pull the FTM into the XC or All Mountain categories. A tyre change here, a stem change there.
The FTM is a great example of what a mountain bike should be; versatile.
It flies in the face of (con)temporary market tastes for increasing niche-ification of mountain biking. The FTM can turn its hand to pretty much anything. It can be built up light enough for XC racing. It can be built up strong enough for aggro hooning.
The 135mm of rear travel is neither 'too much' not 'under-gunned'. It's Goldilocks: 'just right'.
Similarly the suspension characteristics have been tuned to cover a wide spectrum of setup and use. Punchy under power but not overly stiff and sketchy. The back end will happily give you all the travel required for the job, but no more than that. It's a precise tool. Energy saving and efficiency rolled into one capable combo.
Could the Titus FTM be the perfect all-rounder? The only mountain bike you really need? You know, it just could well be.
Internal cable routing eliminates awkward routing, creating seamless flow of cables to key components enhancing overall frame elegance and performance. A stainless steel plate protects the down tube and BB area from impacts.
The all-new seat stay features a full carbon dropout, carbon yoke and new s-bend shaping for enhanced heel clearance. The integrated, stainless steel chain suck shield is a particularly nice touch.
