It's nice and stiff with just the right amount of compliance, absolutely bomb proof and has the infallable 456 geometry which we all love so much...

The Frame:

New international standards in frame stiffness and strength mean our new Carbon 456 frame had to be subjected to rigorous CEN testing. This involved the frame getting mechanically pushed and pulled horizontally, vertically and through the pedals, plus a variety of impact tests. The Carbon 456 sailed through all the tests.

As a do it all trail centre / all mountain hardtail frame the Carbon 456 is very hard to beat. It's light and extremely fast on climbs, yet well balanced and very easy to control on downhills and technical single track. It doesn't ever feel jumpy although the rear end is re-assuringly stiff. And most importantly it feels like you could drop boulders on it and it wouldn't break.

All of us in the On-One team genuinely like this frame. And as a long travel (up to 160mm) frame that normally builds into a complete bike weight of between 23 and 26lbs it's an absolute steal.

• Swap-outs for a do everything frame (Replacement hanger and Singlespeed upgrade)

• Huge mud clearance for super-wide 2.4"+ tyres
• Takes a tapered 1 1/8" - 1 1/2" headset (to fit forks with a tapered steerer tube) or a reducer headset (steps the lower 1 1/2 bearings down to 1 1/8 for use with standard forks). Compatible with On-One Smoothie Mixer headset.
