The Codeine 29er gets the new SRAM NX1 groupset and a wish-list finishing kit that's all set to blow you away. It's the most capable, big wheel, full-suspension bike we've ever made and now it offers unbeatable performance at a price that anyone can afford.
The Codeine 29er geometry is tried and tested, we tweaked it a little earlier this year and revised some of the weld junctions to make it even stiffer in the back end to help you tackle any trail. The Codeine is now more poised and balanced for a more responsive ride, and we've used the power of SRAM's GX1 groupset to help bring the price down even further.
The Codeine 29er still has its great 29er steep seat post angle for getting the power down on climbs, low bottom bracket for keeping your weight low and optimum head angle, wheel base and chainstay lengths to deliver responsive handling. This frameset is designed to make sure that you, the rider, get the most out of this big wheel bike, making sure you enjoy every second.
The Codeine has been benchmarked against every bike we've thrown our leg over. Hand welded from custom formed 7005-T6 Aluminium tubing, with CNC machined fitments, roller bearings and Torx bolts on all fittings; the Codeine chassis is designed to be stiff and durable for both racing and recreation. Every weld, every contour, every measurement has been informed by over a decade of riding trail, downhill and Enduro geometries, but the outcome is utterly unique.
The Codeine is the bike we ride, it's how we want our bikes, so that's single front ring, wide range 10-42 cassette, powerful hydraulic brakes and a wheelset that's tough enough to take on anything you dare ride. SRAM's NX1 is incredibly low maintenance and built for the harshest winter conditions- just right for the UK mudfest that we all know between October and April! SRAMs new Level brakes provide substantial stopping power via the four piston callipers, which is always good to have at hand for those sketchy moments. The new levers give you smooth control with the added luxury of refined reach adjustment to tailor your ride just how you like it.
The Codeine is for trail riders, Enduro racers and generally people that like giving it the beans. But if you're looking for a bargain then this down-specced version with Rockshox Sektor forks as well as a Rockshox Monarch Debonair RT3 Rear Shock for a super supple suspension setup that can handle anything you throw at it. We've also given the additional option of a reverb seatpost (customise options) for some extra dosh if you're feeling particularly extravagant.
You might have thought that a seriously capable, all-mountain, full-suspension 29er was out of reach, think again. The Codeine 29er NX1 is for every rider and any trail.
