The Codeine 29 is our finest full-suspension bike, with sublime handling, exemplary cushioning and more smiles-per-mile for your money than any other mountain bike. With 29" wheels and 140mm of front travel, the Codeine 29 is ready to rip up any trail.
Extensive R&D has enabled us to fine-tune the Codeine's geometry so it handles just as good as it looks. Perfectly poised on tight technical single-track, the Codeine 29 gives you new levels of traction and control. With confidence comes speed, so now you can push harder and reap the rewards.
Featuring the latest 1x groupset (single front ring), the Codeine is ultra-efficient on the climbs. 1-by specific groupsets offer increased performance over conventional set-ups, so all you need do is climb aboard the Codeine 29 and rage - it's just what the doctor ordered.
The Perfect All Mountain Frameset
The Codeine is hand welded from our custom drawn and shaped 7005-T6 aluminium. Each tube is perfectly shaped to maximise strength and minimize weight to help provide you with the most stable platform to attack the trails.
Every Codeine frame is aligned by hand post welding and only when we're absolutely happy with the alignment of each frame does it go for a final T6 heat treatment prior to receiving it's 3 coats of paint.View Range
Performance Tuned Travel
The Codeine is designed with 140mm of travel up front to soak up the hits from the trail so you can ride full tilt without the wallow you'd get from a longer travel fork. 130mm of travel out back helps you track through the rough stuff with maximum traction at all times.View Range
Winch And Plummet Design
At On-One we believe that you should earn the descents and that's why created our Winch and Plummet geometry. A steep 74 degree seat tube angle places you over the pedals in prime pedalling territory, helping you to winch your way up the climbs.
When it comes to pointing the nose downwards a slack 67.5 degree head angle combines with our low BB position to you give you incredible stability at speed while out short chainstays help keep everything nimble in the twisty bits. The Codeine was Enduro before Enduro was even a thing!
Fast Rolling Wheels
29" wheels roll more easily over obstacles than smaller wheels and have proven to be especially helpful when the trails point upwards. Combining a 29" wheelset with the simplicity of a 1X drivetrain with its single front chainring and extended ratio rear cassette gives the Codeine a weight and performance advantage that is hard to beat. The extended lifespan and reliability of the 1X drivetrain is simply the icing on the cake.View Range
"Benchmarked against every other trail bike we’ve tested, this is one of the best. We’ve had people refuse to give them back during testing. It’s been amazing."
Larger radius wheels roll more easily over trail objects than smaller wheels, it's that simple. 29ers have been proven to provide marginal gains when climbing compared to smaller wheel sizes.
An oversized tapered headtube increases bearing surface area where you need it most. The larger tube area also helps to make a stiffer front triangle for improved steering accuracy.
The Codeine is designed for a 1X drivetrain. A single front chain ring paired up with a wide ratio cassette gives you a huge gear range, lightens your bike and banishes dropped chains.
Not your run of the mill alloy frame. We use 7005 to form the complex, curvaceous tube shapes of the Codeine. It's the perfect metal for making a serious all mountain frameset.
